Most successful companies do not have the time or resource to comprehensively identify suitable acquisition targets. You may have a small handful of targets in mind, but the problem with only a handful is that a.) they may not be as suitable as you think (if your not aware of the total market how can you be sure that it's the best buy for you) and b.) they might not be interested in selling anyway!
The key is having a larger number of targets to work from. This can only be derived through hard work. AI works from a specific acquisition brief to identify all potential targets.
The brief is an integral part of any acquisition process and indeed of our service. Read more about the AI briefing process ►
Typically this results in around 200 targets which match some or all of the given criteria. You will obviously need some basis on which to establish each target's suitability. We tackle this by individually analysing each target and providing enough analysis and information for you to come to that decision. Some targets are stronger than others and typically our client is interested in further investigation on around 40 targets. Each of these targets are profiled, providing as much key information as possible. With our guidance, our client will make a decision as to with which targets they would like to commence the approach phase.
We are happy to provide samples of these profiles and related documentation to genuine enquirers upon request.
We would expect a typical research phase to be complete within 6 weeks from approval of the brief by the client. This timescale is obviously subject to client interaction. It is possible to complete the research phase more quickly with our approval.
The target identification phase can be purchased stand alone or at a discounted rate, as part of a packaged project.
